JLE Academy engages students in discussion-based learning, including debate, public speaking, essay writing, and current events reflections.

WORKSHOPS

We will explore the history of Hip Hop culture and its influence on our critical consciousness for social change. Participants will be expected to use their individual and collective creativity to explore solutions for a more equitable society through Hip Hop.

Elements of Hip Hop (rap music, DJing, graffiti, & breaking) and multimedia (music, television, literature, & film) will be used to critique what we learn and communicate about the culture.
